    Damiana  is a small shrub native to the southwestern US, Mexico and South America. A cousin to the passionflower vine, Damiana produces bitter tasting leaves (no remarkable aroma).
    Damiana,  was used by the Aztecs for impotency . While the most common use is as aphrodisiac , it has also been highly valued as a relaxant, digestive stimulant, mood enhancer, or just an enjoyable beverage.
    Damiana leaf (dried) can be brewed into a tea, made into a tincture, used in herbal tea blends, infused oils, poultices or powdered and encapsulated. Damiana leaves are often infused in alcohol to make liqueurs .
