    * Tips for a successful Repair ( my own suggestions )
1 -  Cut or trim your Hose ends off squarely, use knife, hacksaw, PVC cutter, the trick is to get your cut or trimming straight. If it’s not cut or trimmed straight, it will leak. Y-u Tu-be has some great instructional videos if needed.
2 - before pushing the Hose end into the mender it is easier and will give you a more successful repair if you dip ( in a cup ),or coat the end of the Hose end ( about an inch up ), that you are repairing with water or a cup with a few drips of any type of liquid soap ( dish washing soap, laundry soap etc... ). This will ensure you push your hose all the way in. You want the outside of the hose coated, it doesn’t matter if the inside of the hose gets wet also, just don’t drink out of the hose until you run it for a while.
The hardest part of the repair is making sure your repair end of the hose is cut or trimmed straight. The whole process should only take a few minutes with the most time being spent will be finding something to cut the hose with. Please be careful when cutting or trimming hose.
