What does DOUBLE EXTRACTED mean?
It means is was extracted in alcohol and then HOT water to extract ALL the different medicinal properties this amazing plant has to offer. We believe this is an excellent extraction method when making a Sarracenia Purpurea tincture as well and using the
FRESH
plant.
Glycerin
in the tincture does a wonderful job
preserving the plant tannins
in the extract.
Alcohol
tinctures bypass the need to digest in the gut & are

History:
This insectivore plant
in the late 1800's was used by the
Micmac native Americans
of Nova Scotia as a
botanical-based remedy
for
multiple
purposes. Since then it was forgotten & then re-discovered.Native to North America, these bogs loving plants grow in thin nutrient deficient soils. They absorb nutrients from their prey to supplement those lacking in the soil to thrive.
Sarracenia Purpurea
grows along the Eastern seaboard, Great Lakes region, Alaska, Washington & Canada. However, most varieties along the Gulf Coast of the US that were once identified as Sarracenia purpurea, like ssp venosa, have since been reclassified as Sarracenia rosea. The best way to know what subspecies it is, is by it's geographical location where it is found
. Ours were wildcrafted by us in pristine areas of Northern North America.
