Description

This is a 5000 watt, 5.0kW element, it is 10% lower wattage than any standard 5.5kw element, and on 240 volts draws 20.8 amps. (compared to a 5.5 which draws 22.9 amps).
It is easier on motherboard relays, and circuit breakers, gets the water just as hot as a 5.5kw, and tends to last longer due to the lower wattage. It will take 10% longer to heat
the spa the very first time, then you would not really see the difference compared to a 5.5kw.
(standard 5.5kw elements run VERY hot internally, and are at the UL limit for watt density).
In general, 4.0 and 5.0kw elements are a better choice than 5.5kw but some users do not want to drop down from 5.5 to 4.0kw. The 5.0kw is an excellent choice for those in colder climates.
Heater relays on motherboards are one of the major causes of having to replace boards due to the heavy current draw placed on these small relays, and
the 5.0 is easier on relays compared to a 5.5kw.

For a proper fit you need your heater housing to conform to the details listed which again are:
Stainless Steel Housing outside diameter must be 2.25" (2-1/4 inch)
Housing hole size for terminals must be 1/2 inch.
Housing hole spacing must be 1-1/4 inch center to center.
Housing must require an element with terminals offset to one side.
Housing must require an overall element length of approximately 9-7/8 inch.
